The distinctive "View" series Great Domes began as Great Northern cars and served Amtrak from 1971 to 2019, giving passengers sweeping upper-level views. This Walthers Proto 920-13600 recreates the 85' Budd Great Dome in HO scale, fully assembled and detailed inside and out for immediate service.
Item 920-13600 is painted to match Amtrak standards in the Amtrak (Phase III with Decal) scheme, with name and number decals for you to apply. The model includes a detailed interior, factory-installed grab irons, prototypically accurate window tinting and gasket detail, sprung operating diaphragms, turned metal 36" RP-25 wheelsets on correct trucks, and Proto MAX magnetic metal knuckle couplers. A modeler-installed extended drawbar is included for 22" radius curves.
