Walthers Proto 920-105307 HO Scale Test Car - Data Only (gray)

The Walthers Proto 920-105307 recreates a gray, data-only scale test car in HO scale. These compact cars are patterned after the prototypes that railroads used to calibrate the track scales where freight was weighed. Sent back to the shop for regular reweighing, an unlettered car like this was a familiar sight moving across the system, which makes it an easy and prototypical addition to any operating scheme.

Item 920-105307 carries a diecast body for plenty of weight and rolls on 33 scale inch RP-25 turned metal wheels fitted with Proto MAX metal knuckle couplers. Road-specific details include the correct side and top access doors, wheel bearings and hand brake, factory-applied wire grab irons, and photo-etched brass placards matched to the prototype. Park it on a yard siding or an industrial spur, carry it on a flatcar as a load, or pair it with the Cornerstone Track Scales kit (933-3199, sold separately) to add another operating chore to your railroad.
