The 3,600 horsepower MPI (Motive Power Industries) MP-36 locomotive is one type in a series of passenger locomotives produced in the company’s MPXpress lineup. While there have been numerous variations produced, this new Atlas model represents the most common, the MP36PH-3C. This variation includes a separately powered Head-end Power (HEP) system which alleviates the need for high prime mover RPM to power the passenger cars’ lighting and electrical systems.
FEATURES:
- Golden-white LEDs
- Realistic die-cast underframe
- Five-pole skewed armature motor with dual flywheels for optimum performance at all speeds
- Realistic lighting effects including ditch lights and in-cab light
- Metal knuckle couplers
- Detailed cab interior
- Separately-installed scale windshield wipers, metal grab irons and fine scale handrails
- Coupler cut levers
- Multiple unit hoses and trainline hoses
- Recommended 22” radius with Atlas passenger cars
